Introduction

Demographic change means that the older generations including the Baby Boomer are forming an increasingly large and significant proportion of the population. Baby Boomers are people born (particularly in the USA and the UK) during a temporary post war peak in the birth-rate between 1945 and 1965. It is not surprising that baby boomers and older people are forming a larger proportion of the entrepreneurial population as this demographic change, improved health, altruism and the need to supplement income become more important.
